Out of all the Dragon Trapper, Eret, son of Eret is the best; his skills are what got Drago Bludvist's attention; just as his gold go Eret's, he and his men have been helping him build his dragon army. But when he failed to bring one of Drago's shipments, he scared his chest with iron and fire, promising to be less understanding and leaving fear in the trappers' hearts.
That promise looked like it was going to be forfilled when his fortress was attacked my a masked dragon rider and freed all of their captured dragons; he and his men got their last ship ready to around up more dragons and before they left Eret almost bagged himself a Deadly Nadder and a Night Fury! Eret 'wasn't/didn't' sure why the Night Fury's rider, Hiccup wanted to change both his and Dragos' minds about dragons or why the girl's Nadder kept bring Hiccup's 'fire sword' back to him? Or why one of the female riders wants to kiss him?
Eret would have been continuing his trapping if Berk's top Dragons Riders weren't worried about their friends and kidnapped him so he could take them to Drago; but Drago's men found them and knocked out their dragons before bring them on-board their head ship. Drago saw his 'master trapper' as a traitor when he saw the dragons' riders and saddles, if Stormfly hadn't got to the ship on time, Eret would have been dead. Seeing what he has been hunting his whole life saving him made Eret understand Hiccup's words and the bond the riders share with their dragons. He repays Stormfly by saving both her, the riders and their dragons; and the White Alpha's nest.
Once Drago got his Bewilderbeast to kill 'two' great leaders and controlled all the dragon on the island, Eret helped to send one of the leaders off before getting on the back of a baby Scuttleclaw, so he, Valka and the Riders can save both Berk and the dragons. Eret's trapping days were far behind when Hiccup welcomed him to his tribe and Eret promised him to look after Skullcrusher in Stoick's place; as Hiccup looks after Berk!

Eret was an unexpected favourite of mine in this new movie. 
I love the part near the end when Hiccup hands Skullcrusher over to him. 
The fact that Skullcrusher kind of looks Eret up and down first before walking over to him and 'nudging' him is too sweet. It's almost like the dragon's 'checking' him out and is then like 'yeah, you'll do' and the 'nudge' is like 'notice me, human'. 
And then the subtle pupil change in Skullcrusher's eye when Eret accepts the responsibility of taking him on just about makes me melt. 
Looking forward to seeing if he'll appear in any future Dreamworks' Dragons series.
