Ch: 2 – Connected Hearts And A Young Inpatient Future King

Years had passed from that day and on Mysterious Tower, the world and land where Master Yen Sid lives and where he teaches Mickey, Yen Sid was in a special room known as the Room of Legacy, where light blue marble statues of great heroes, legends, leaders, legacies and king and queens from Terra and Soras’ family stand.  Every member in Terra’s family who becomes king or queen are carved in to medium statues and Yen Sid does carve the statues of people who have done great deeds that makes them a hero, legend, legacy or a leader who had lead his or her people, home or army well to be in the Room of Legacy.

Terra’s statue is standing next to his father, Eraqus and Yen Sid was going to let Mickey do the carving of Sora, with his power.  Yesterday Sora and some other future Keybearers had just passed a test and earned their own keyblades and in accordance of tradition, the future king or queen statue will be carved when he or she has earned their keyblade, and it is time to carve Sora into the Room of Legacy.  When Sora grows, the statue will change shape into the age that Sora becomes. Some of the statues are of children, adults and elderly.  Some of the people want their carving to be the age that they like it to be and as for the heroes, their carving age stops or keeps ageing when a person does something good or makes them a legend in that age.

Yen Sid gave Mickey a light blue marble pearl; to make the statue and Mickey placed the pearl down on the ground, right next to the statue of Terra.  Mickey raised his Keyblade, the Kingdom Key D high and the pearl moved like moving liquid and took shape.  Mickey concentrated on the pearl, when it was taking shape and raised his keyblade higher.  First it formed a round platform and it moved, then a figure on the platform and then the carving of young Sora was completed.  Mickey was proud of himself for doing a good job with the carving and his master was pleased with him too.  Mickey called back his keyblade and looked up at his master.

“Sora sure has grown from the last time that we saw him at his presentation to Kingdom Hearts” Mickey chuckled.

“He sure has, Mickey” Master Yen Sid repiled, “He sure has.”

Yen Sid smiled upon the statue figure of Sora, that Mickey had done and wondered if Mickey will be as great as himself and if Sora will become a fine young man someday.

When morning was coming to Land Of Departure, young prince Sora watched as the sun rose before heading to wake up his parents.  Terra had promised Sora yesterday that he’ll show Sora something that his father showed him after the day he got his keyblade.  As the sun rose above the mountains, Sora got on his shoes and ran down the corridor to his parents’ room to wake his father up.  When Sora got into his parents’ room, he jumped onto his father and shook him up.

“Dad!” Sora jolted, “Come on Dad we’ve got to go, you promised me!”  Sora continued trying to wake Terra.  Sora kept on and on and on saying ‘Dad’ to wake him up.  Aqua got up to calm her son down and to help her husband.

“Sora” she said, “let your father sleep for a little while longer.  But with me up and awake like you, you and I can do something while we wait for him to wake up.”

“But Mum.”

“Thanks for caring about me, dear, but I can deal with this myself” Terra mumbled.

“You’re awake now, dad, so let’s go!”  The cat was out of the bag for Terra when he mumbled those words.  Terra sat up and looked directly at his son.

“Sora it’s still a little bit early and we can’t go right before we have breakfast and get dressed.”

“Go back to your room Sora” Aqua added, “I’ll be there soon, and you better be dressed when I get there.”

“Alright, Mum” Sora jumped down of his father and ran to the door.  “Oh yeah, and Dad” Terra looked at him, “Don’t go back to sleep.”  Aqua giggled as Sora left the door.

“What’s so funny” Terra asked his wife as he got out of bed.

“Terra” she replied, “Who does Sora remind you of?”

“Who?”

“He’s just like you, when you were his age and after you got your keyblade, all those years ago.”

Terra then remembered the days when he was young and how he acted like Sora the day after he got his key.  “Your right, Sora and I are a lot alike.  And someday he’ll be a fine king, like..... or better than me and even... my father.”

Aqua got herself out of bed, when Terra got a little box out of one of his drawers.  The box contained a gift for Sora that Teera was give to him today, a silver chain necklace with a crown at the end.  Terra and Aqua might be the king and queen, but they don’t let the people who work for them who dress them or their son.  They were both good and kind royals who think about their people and their feelings and also let them take their time, to wake up.  The cooks and the maids that were up first started to get the food ready, while the three got dressed.

After they got dressed and had something to eat, all three of mother, father and son headed to the place that Terra was going to show Sora what his father showed him.  Terra was going to show Sora inside the temple that contains the Oathkeeper and that connects all worlds and lands together.

“Sora” Aqua uttered before the two entered the temple, “Are you forgetting something?”  Sora blushed, knowing what his mother was asking for, a kiss.

“Mum” Sora moaned, “Future kings don’t give their mums kisses.”

But she gave her son that look saying ‘if you don’t give me one, I’ll give you one instead’.  Sora looked at his father for help, but he took Aqua’s side, so Sora just decided to get it over and done with.  He went up to his mother as she kneeled down to make it easier for Sora to kiss her cheek.  After he kissed her cheek Aqua patted him on the head and then tightly embraced him, before she let him go with his father.

“Don’t do anything that will get you into trouble when you are in the temple, Sora” she said after she let him go, “I’ll see you when it is time to train with the others who got their keyblades yesterday too, okay?”

“Okay, Mum.  I’ll see you later.....” he turned away to blush, “And I promise not to get into any trouble.”

Aqua giggled for a bit before she left the two, when she was leaving, both father and son headed to the entrance of the temple.  The temple was known as the Temple of Kingdom Hearts or the Temple of hearts or light.  The temple was built in the time of beginning, when Terra and Soras’ family started to rule and when they and other Keybearers and warriors started to watch over and protect the worlds, lands and their people.  The stones of the temple were crystal white to show as a symbol of light and different colour head stone crystals were the colours of the elements that they wielded, with symbols on them to show people which element that it represents.

Sora has always seen the temple on the outside and was told the stories of the times before and after the temple was built, and today was the first time that he was going to see the inside.  The doors to the temple had golden crests of keyholes, which are the doors to a world-land’s heart.  Terra let Sora open the doors and Sora was amazed at what he saw.  The great light shone bright on the Oathkeeper and the Sacred Pillar that it was in.  The walls were the same crystal white colour as the stones on the outside and there were drawings on the wall in gold.

They told the story of when the darkness spread a great shadow over all worlds and lands and when monsters called Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed and Nightmare Dream Eaters stormed and caused suffering and chaos everywhere they went.  How the worlds-lands and the people had suffered, when Kingdom Hearts was filled with darkness.  But one day, one of Terra’s ancestors stood up and decided that enough was enough and to free everyone from this darkness that caused too much sadness.  After some of the remaining light had made the Oathkeeper, the keyblade of light, and gave it to him, he and the other warriors rose up and put a stop to the suffering.  Some of the warriors wielded keyblades made by the light, like their leader and others wielded some other weapons that aided them well in the fight.  When the light was restored and the monsters and the ones who still live and serve the darkness were banished and exiled, the Darkness inside Kingdom Hearts turned into light.  The Sacred Pillar rose from the earth to place and keep the first keyblade in and so the light in the worlds and lands will always be strong and so the darkness with never rise again.  A temple was built around the Sacred Pillar and the temple was given sacred powers to connect all worlds and lands together.  The one who had gave them hope and freedom became their king, so he and his family can always keep them in light and never in darkness.

The story of beginning was always Sora’s favourite and how a member of his family ended the time of darkness and brought the time of light.  Someday he’ll continue the family’s duty as king.

Crystal ball spheres, floating in mid air circled the pillar and the key; the spheres are like mirrors that reflect a world-land.  Each sphere reflects a world and lands’ and the spheres connect them to the temple and when one of them is in trouble, a sphere glows red to tell the king that he is needed.  Also the spheres reflect the kingdom that connects them all.  Terra brought Sora closer to them to see the worlds that can become or feel like a whole land.

“Look, Sora” Terra started to speak, “Every world that helps to become our home and land, is our kingdom that we watch over and protect.”

Sora was amazed with what he was looking at with his own two eyes.  “Wow!!!  This is amazing, Dad!”

“A kings time is like the sun, we rise when we become king and then we set when our title and duty goes to the next king and the duty of watching over all of these worlds and lands goes down to the next king as well.  One day Sora, my time as king will set and then rise as you, as the new king.”

“And this will all be mine, even if the worlds and lands already have their own leaders?”

“Yes Sora.  We can’t always lead every world and land at the same time, so we have people from each one of those worlds and lands to take care of them and lead them.  And we make sure that they all get along and help them when they need us to turn to.  But there are some worlds and lands that still live in darkness and like to cause trouble for others.  So those dark ones are not part of us and you must never go there.”

Sora spotted the dark glowing spheres in the corner of the temple, trapped in a circle underneath them.  “Are those black spheres in the corner the dark ones?”

“Yes!”

“And Dad.....why can’t I go to the dark world and lands, I thought a king can do whatever they want?”

“There is more to being king then just getting your own way all the time!”

“There’s more?”

“Sora” Terra chuckled, he then took Sora out of the Temple, he wanted to show Sora something that will help him understand.

He took Sora to a high hill so he can see the hole of Land Of Departure, Sora stared at the amazing view and wondered why his father brought him here.

“In one of the World lands called the Pride Lands, they taught us about a delicate balance and as a king we must understand that balance, like lions of the Pride Lands respect all of the creatures from the crawling ant, to the leaping antelope!”

“But Dad, don’t lions eat antelopes?”

“Yes Sora, but let me explain.  Look when they die they become the grass and the antelope eat the grass.  When we understood this, we understood that their balance is life and that all life is connected.  And that connection brought all of the worlds together and became lands” Terra then kneeled down to Sora, “We are all connected no matter who or what we are, we are all connected to a great circle.  And if a circle can connect us....” Terra got the charmed gift out of his pocket and put it around Sora’s neck, “We can also be connected by our hearts as well, and that connection gives us strength by the love that we forge and by the friends that we make.  Remember this Sora.  No matter what, your friends and loved ones will always become your power, when you truly need it and you’ll never be alone, no matter what.  As long as you cherish those who are important to you, one day that power will come to you when the time is right.  When you need it most to help you and to help and save those who need you, as you or as king.  Someday your heart will tell what these words mean.”

Sora understood a little what his father had told him.  He knew that he’ll understand the rest someday like he said and he was happy about the gift he was given, it was like wearing an early crown, so he tightly embraced him to show his thanks.  Terra smiled and wrapped his arms around Sora.  Then Demyx came out of nowhere and ran up to the two.  He had come with the morning report and was set to give it to the King.

“Terra” he called out.

Both King and Prince let each other go and looked at Demyx coming up to them.  Terra got off the ground when Demyx finally got up to them.

“What is it, Demyx?” Terra asked.

“Don’t worry; it’s nothing important or urgent or anything.  I was just asked to give you the morning report.”

He handed the day’s report to the King.  Terra opened the note to see what the reports were today and like some of the others are it was just some complaints that people wanted the King to see to and what the other worlds and lands were up to.  Sora was curious about the report that his father was reading.

“Is there anything cool in it today?” he asked him.  Terra folded the note and patted his son’s head.

“No Sora” Terra told him, “Just some complaints and what everything and everyone are doing today here or in their home world and lands.”

“Can kings just skip the boring stuff and just read to cool and interesting stuff instead?”  Terra chuckled from Sora’s question.

“I wish I could, but the King needs to do the borings as well as the cool and interesting stuff!”

“Yeah” Demyx added, “But it is better to get the boring then the attacks!”

“Attacks?  What’s so bad about attack reports?” Sora asked.

Terra patted Sora’s head again.  “One day, Sora.  You will know why and understand why we prefer the borings!”

Then came the sound of hoof steps coming towards them.  The three looked ahead where the sound was coming from and two Electricorn Spirit Dream Eaters that were ridden by Captain Leon and General Cloud came galloping up to them, along with a Pegaslick, Aura Lion and a Halbird Spirit Dream Eater.

Leon and Cloud are Terra’s childhood friends and loyal comrades that always stand by their king and never turn their back on him, no matter what.  When the Electricorns were Leon and Clouds’ stallions, the Pegaslick was Terra’s and the other two were just Dream Eaters that stand beside them as bodyguards.  The Aura Lion is Leon’s and the Halbird is Clouds.  The Pegaslick stepped closer to its rider when it and the others got up to the three.

“What’s going on” Terra asked his friends while patting the Pegaslick.

Leon pulled out a scroll from the sea land world of Atlantica give to him.  Terra rolled out the scroll and read what it said.  He was shocked when he realised that this was a call for help, Atlantica was being attacked by Heartless.

“Soon after Demyx left to find you and hand over the day’s report, that scroll was handed to us by a small red crab” Leon started.

“And soon after he told us what was happening in Atlantica, we set off to find you when the others were getting ready” Cloud added.

“The king of Atlantica is doing his best to keep the ones who have taken refuge in his palace for safety and keep the heartless at bay as well, but he needs our help!”

“The gate to Atlantica is open and waiting for us as well!”

“So let’s not keep the gate and Atlantica waiting” Terra replied.  Terra summoned his Spirit Dream Eater, a Cera Terror, before getting on the Pegaslick’s back.  “Demyx, take Sora home!”

“Sure thing” Demyx repiled.

“But Dad can’t I come and see Atlantica and the merpeople?” Sora asked.

“No Sora” then Terra turned to his comrades, “Let’s go, before things get worse there!”

“Right” the two repiled.

When the three and the Dream Eaters started to leave, Terra looked back at Sora.  “I’ll be back soon Sora, so stay out of trouble.  Do well in today’s training and I will tell you everything that happened when I get back” he called back.

When they were faraway in the distance, Demyx and Sora started to head back.  Sora moaned as they started walking back and was wondering why he never goes with his father when he is called away.

“I never get to go to where he is sent to fight on another world-land” Sora moaned.

“Don’t worry Sora” Demyx told him, “When you are king, you can go and fight those shadow creeps from dawn to dusk.”  Sora didn’t let go of his frown.  “Look training won’t start for another few hours, so you’ll have some time to yourself before is starts, okay?”

“All right.”

After they got back, Sora went for a wonder near his home before heading for training and then he spotted his uncle Xemnas heading to the back edge of Land Of Departure.  Sora followed him to see what he was up to.

Xemnas was minding his own business and was thinking about his brother showing Sora the inside of the temple.  He knew that Sora was growing up fast and very soon he’ll be on the throne as king.  After he let a small pebble fall over the edge, Sora came up to him.

“Yeah, Uncle Xemnas guess what?” Sora asked him.

Xemnas turned to face him.  “I’m not a big fan of guessing games!” he repiled.

“I’m gonna be king!”

“That’s nice!”  Xemnas tried to hold back his anger.

“My dad just showed me inside the temple, showed the other worlds and lands and even let me see an amazing view of our home world land.  And one day I’m gonna rule it all!”  Sora then let out a little giggle.

“Yes, yes you will, but forgive me for not leaping of joy, young Sora.  I had a rough and tough morning, you know.”  Xemnas then sat down on a rock.

“Uncle Xemnas?” Sora asked him, “When I am king, what will you be?”

“A monkey’s uncle!”

Sora chuckled.  “You’re so weird Uncle Xem!”

“You have no idea” Xemnas got off the rock and walked a bit, with Sora following him.  “So your father showed you the outside worlds and lands did he?”

“Every single one!”

“But I bet he didn’t show you the ones of shadows, where the darkness roams?”

“No!  He said that I can’t go there.”

“And he is right!  Especially when there’s an entrance to a cave that is covered by the darkness nearby.  Oops!”

“There’s one close by?  Cool.”

“Well it looks like I said too much to my favourite nephew!”

“‘Your only nephew, you mean!”

“More of a reason to protect you.  Besides I know you, you and your friends like to sneak into places and cause trouble.  And also, only the bravest warriors are the only ones to go there.  To the place where the river refuses to meet!”

“I’m brave, I can go in there.  And what is this river thing?”

“I’m sorry, Sora I can’t say anymore.  But Cloud’s son, your friend might know.....  And promise me one thing, Sora.  Promise me that you will never go to that bad place which is like a dark maze!”

Sora crossed his fingers behind his back, before saying his lie.  “Don’t worry, Uncle.  I won’t go there!”

“That’s a good boy” Xemnas patted Sora on the head, “Now go, it’s time for training and you don’t want your mother to worry about you.”  Sora nodded and started to head off.  “Oh and Sora!”  Sora stopped and turned to look at him.  “Remember what I told you, it will be our little secret!”

Sora nodded again and started to head off to where everyone was waiting for him.  Xemnas smiled cruelly as he watched Sora leave.  He knew Sora lied as he did.  He knew Sora would go to the Cave of Shadows, a place where the river refuses to flow to and where those who live in darkness gather and he also knew that Sora will bring his friends there with him and that one of his friends will know about it and help the little prince to go there even more.  Xemnas imagined the things that will happen to them when they go there and then he headed back, before anyone saw him.
Part 2 when Sora has grown from a baby to a kid and when Terra shows him when he was his age! - (And for the next videos, I found)
